Faculty of Social Sciences and HumanitiesDavid Chesterton is the Director of the Secure Foundation & Chair of the Young Offenders Academy

David is a social entrepreneur with a passion for social justice, particularly in relation to young people.He is an international authority on housing and support solutions for homeless and vulnerable young people including substantial involvement in shaping public policy and programmes in Australia.

David's interests include:

  • creation of East Potential, the UK's largest provider of Foyers which accommodates 600 homeless and vulnerable young people in the East End

  • national public policy in relation to youth custody and the need for a step change in approach

  • Director of the Australian Foyer Foundation - working with homeless young people

  • regeneration of east London.

  • the establishment of active use of the enclosed docks of London'sDocklands

  • a magistrate and sits as a youth court chairman


This event is organised in association with the Adab Trust. The Adab Trust works with universities to mentor students from backgrounds that have not traditionally had access to higher education. http://adab-trust.org/
